The Victoria Hotel, "The Vic" as it is affectionately known to the locals, has been a Rutherglen icon since it was established in 1868. The Heritage listed building has changed little over the past 140 years and is currently being renovated and improved to reflect much of its former grandure. Think lofty ceilings, crackling fireplaces and gracious verandahs, a cozy traditional Australian front bar with tap and boutique beers and an impressive local wine list.
With 20 bedrooms, The Vic offers traditional hotel accommodation catering towards individuals as well as larger groups. Rooms 2 and 3 face the front verandah while other rooms meander through corridors and along the long verandah at the back of the hotel overlooking the original stable and mortuary buldings.
Your hosts Sarah and Sean will ensure you get the warmest welcome whether you are staying with us, dining in our bistro or just enjoying a great glass of Rutherglen wine or cool beer by the open fire.
The Hotel offers great accommodation and special weekends of fine food and music. Ample space at the rear of the building provides secure parking areas for bicycles and motor bikes. Recently the hotel was delighted to host a keen group of rotarians on their ride around Australia in support of mental health, to learn more about this exceptional charity ride go to http://www.greataustralianbikeride.org.au/
