Sarah and Sean were thrilled to receive this photo via email very recently. Sarah says, “It really was just so kind and thoughtful of the person to send this photo from their private collection through. Being a heritage building there is a lot of history here. The hotel is a grand old dame, if only the walls could talk. The façade and beautiful upstairs balcony, which is the hallmark of a classic Australian country hotel has hardly changed a bit although it does look like the town of Rutherglen has! I wonder what was on the lunch menu back in the 1920’s!”

The sender says,“……Looking through my mother’s photographs, I have come across one of your hotel. It dates I think from 1925-1930. My grandfather did a lot of building for the Rutherglen cellars (of which I have some more photos) and they used to buy their lunches at the Pub. Thought you may be interested……”
